About the Blog

Corazón Gitano is a travel blog for travellers and digital nomads. It focuses on Peru as Daniela, the person behind this blog, has her residence there. However, you will also find articles about all other Latin American countries here.

As Daniela is a digital nomad, many articles will contain some bits and pieces about internet connection, places to work from etc. If you’re “just” a traveller, this may not be that relevant to you. However, we’re all a bit internet-addicted nowadays, aren’t we?

The blog focuses mostly on culture and history as well as on visits to beautiful places in nature which can easily be reached even if you’re not the fittest person in the world.  Adventurous trekking or jungle tours are not generally part of this blog but I may accept guest posts which are about that kind of stuff.

About Daniela

My name is Daniela and I’ve been fascinated by Latin America since I was a teenager. I lived in Brazil in the 1990’s because my now grown-up children have a Brazilian father. However, although I speak Portuguese, I prefer to be in a Spanish-speaking environment.

I started to live as a digital nomad in 2014 and have been in Latin America since 2017. In early 2018,  I applied for a residency permit in Peru which means that I travel for 6 months within in Peru and visit other Latin American countries for the remaining 6 months.

If you’re a digital nomad who wants to travel to Peru, feel free to join my Facebook group.

I’d call myself a communicative introvert. I don’t function well in groups and hate superficial small talk but I love to get to know new people and have meaningful conversations with them.
